Indira Educational & Charitable Trust was formed a decade ago and the deed of the Trust was executed on 13^th March 2002. The founder of the Trust Mr. V.G. Rajendran is a construction professional and has successfully promoted a number of residential complexes in and around the city of Chennai.

Having won accolades in his own profession, Mr. V.G. Rajendran, a keen social activist and visionary, felt that he should contribute his might to the betterment of the society as a part of his social commitment.  This he felt could be achieved by promoting Educational Institutions that impart high quality education at an affordable cost so that the middle class and the less privileged could stand to benefit. 

Pandur Village, located 5 kilometers from Thiruvallur Township where the Trust owns sufficient land with all the necessary infrastructure, was selected to site the institutions. In addition to Instructional area, there are separate hostels for boys &  girls and a Modern Fully appointed canteen to provide tasty and sumptuous food at nominal cost.

The College is located in the main Thiruvallur - Tirutani National Highway & can be reached by regular Metropolitan Bus Service. There are also College buses  from the campus to Thiruvallur station for the benefit of the Students and staff members.

 INDIRA COLLEGE OF NURSING AND INDIRA SCHOOL OF NURSING :

Institutions that have been approved by the Indian Nursing Council / Tamilnadu Nurses & Midwives Council are situated on the mail Thiruvallur - Thiruthani National Highway NH 205 and are well connected by road with Chennai and other district headquarters in Tamilnadu.

Indira College of Nursing is affiliated to the TamilNadu Dr.MGR Medical University,Chennai-32

The Buildings housing the institutions have been meticulously planned to accommodate spacious, well ventilated classrooms with comfortable seating arrangements ,discussion halls ,auditoriums with the latest audio - Visual teaching aids, a continuously Updated library with a large volume of contemporary titles pertaining to nursing education and training. The Institutes subscribe to a number of national & international journals and magazines on the subject.
